The decisions a teacher makes about room arrangement and instructional materials reflects the philosophy and goals of a teacher, as well as the expectations she has for the children (Brewer, 2006).

- Flow and traffic areas are considered for meeting students' needs
- Attention is given to placement of quiet and loud centers.
I believe my floor plan will be developmentally appropriate and that it will foster a positive learning environment in which students are able to concentrate, listen, learn, and communicate effectively.
